My Gardening Feature in WBEZ Chicago

That time of year is approaching….. gardening season!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾

I had an opportunity to chat with Samantha over at @wbezchicago about my experience in gardening and provide some tips and tricks I’ve learned along the way.

With that being said, I’m definitely gearing up for round 2 in our new home, but I’ll be moving some things around and starting something very new to me, which is flower gardening. Last year I planted some hydrangeas for the first time ever so I’m excited and nervous to see how they start to bloom in the season ahead but now I want to venture out and try some other flower assortments, like peonies, lilies, roses… etc.

This article is all about how I share my trials, tribulations and tricks with my viewers throughout the gardening season, documenting how I I started out small, planting tomato, cucumber and bell pepper in a 4-by-8 raised garden bed in my backyard.

Once my first harvest proved bountiful, I enlisted the help of family, friends and neighbors to take hundreds of pieces of produce off of her hands — even after making, and documenting, salsas and homemade pasta sauce with the kids.

I’m so excited to have been featured on WBEZ, and for Samantha to bring this article to life! I’m looking forward to this gardening season!
