SPRUCE UP YOUR SPACE – STENCIL EDITION

You guys! If you’re following me over on Instagram you know that I’ve recently started a Home Decor series called Spruce Up Your Space, which is 100% geared towards all of my renovations and updates at my studio BSB Creative Studio In this series, I’ll be sharing lost of tips on decor.

This past weekend I took a trip to my local Lowe’s in search of some paint and tools to add an accent wall using a stencil from Royal Design Studio to one of the rooms.

Although there are MANY options to create an accent wall, from just regular paint, to removable wallpaper, I chose to go with a stencil. This isn’t my first time playing around with one. Stencils IMO are super easy, relatively fast and inexpensive. There is just something about the various designs that you can use that I really enjoy. There are tons of patterns and they give you the ability to customize your colors for a complete different look. I chose to go with the Mali Mudcloth Design, which is a graphic pattern distinctive of the Malian culture in Africa.

There are also not a ton of items needed to complete an accent wall with a stencil. I purchased some Sherwin Williams paint in the color Tricorn Black, A stencil Brush from Royal Design Studio, a step ladder, Painter’s Tape, a container to hold the paint, oh and little bit of time!

So now I need to know, have you been doing any updates to Spruce Up Your Space and if so, would you consider using a stencil on your next project?

xoxo
