SINGLEUSE2REUSE – WHAT’S THE SCOOP

Pssttt…..I’ve got something to share with you guys and it’s alllll about going @singleusetoreuse. I was recently schooled on all things recycling to reuse and I am absolutely intrigued! recycling to reuse and I am absolutely intrigued!

So let’s start from the beginning. What is Reuse Plastics and Single Use to Reuse? It’s a collaborative effort that has one primary goal in mind, and it’s to end plastic waste. But not in the traditional way that many of us are accustomed to. They have quite literally in my opinion, reinvented the wheel. They have done so by providing tons of dialogue and education around ways to appropriately recycle and more importantly REUSE plastics as we know it.

What if I told you that through simple circularity of plastics, what was once a milk jug can become a detergent bottle, a yogurt cup can become a toothrbrush and what was once maybe a plastic water bottle could become a wearable items such as a jacket, by simply reusing and properly disposing of plastics? That info alone was enough for me to be intrigued about the initiative.

Single Use to Reuse has committed to a goal of 100% of all plastic packaging being reusable, recyclable and recoverable within 10 years. How can you be a part of this initiative, and do your part? It’s very simple, you can start by recycling according to your community’s guidelines and treating plastics as a valuable resource to help create a more circular economy. You can also educate yourself and those around you about the importance of recycling.
