FALL DECORATING WITH MY FAVORITE ITEMS

Are you looking for the perfect front door decor for your home? Check out these simple design tricks I used to stay within my Fall Decor budget (you guys know I will go crazy if someone doesn’t control me!) and how you can make the most with your decor as well!

I’m quite happy with it! Can you tell?

A few of my favorite stores for decor include At Home and Big Lots! I think these are the most underrated shopping destinations for on budget finds! OK, let’s go!

What we started with!

How it looks now!

  • When you are decorating an open canvas like mine, it’s important to use hierarchy in your design. I began with the two tall pillars on each side of my front door, and built down from there. You always want to keep things almost in a pyramid- to make it look fuller.

  • When you are trying to save money for your annual decorations, it’s also really important to have things on hand that you can reuse every single year, such as the faux decor from Big Lots I have here.

  • Combining natural elements (such as the corn stalks and the few real pumpkins) with the faux decorations will create a beautiful, natural look, because as long as there are raw elements within the design, people tend to appreciate the look of everything together more than if it was just one or the other. (Design tip!)

  • When decorating on a budget, try using 2-3 colors tops. In place of too many colors, try using different textures and patterns to mix things up! This keeps everything consistent and cohesive. It allows the eye to move through the design by only having a few pops of color.

  • Don’t forget a wreath! It brings everything together and makes your front door stand out. It also creates that hierarchy that we mentioned in the first tip!
